I was talking with my mom on the phone the other day, and she gave me a piece of wisdom that initially felt simple. But as I pondered it, I realized that’s how coded wisdom often works. You need to sit with it and let it show you. It’s amazing how much depth some sentences can have. My mom said in Papiamentu, our native tongue, something that roughly translates to, “if you are smart, be smart. If you are wise, be wise. If you are intelligent, be intelligent. If you have knowledge, use your knowledge.” This was after I had shared a psychic dream I’d had and the revelations that came with it as I journaled on the dream.
As we grow into maturity, and become more of who we can be, and as we nurture our gifts and hone our skills, we get opportunities to expand beyond our current capacity or understanding.
I believe that it’s our responsibility to own who we are constantly becoming – unafraid of how our evolution might look like from the outside. For, who we become tomorrow might surprise who we are today. As change is inevitable, we might as well be intentional about our relationship with it. My 18 year old self had no idea that I’d be this version of myself at 31. And my 31 year old self has no idea who I will be in 10 years. But if I am intentional about my development, I know that I’ll be proud of that version of myself, too.

Going back to the inspiration for this post: While I’ve always been sensitive, I’ve never sat with my psychic skills or tapped into the powers they hold.
While I have a natural ability to connect dots and analyze things, I’ve never fully delved into what would happen if I start attuning myself to also the underlying energies behind and beyond something.
While I couldn’t do this before, now I can. I can because I’ve done the work to mature into this version of myself.
I have the gift of foresight, and it has shown me more than once that it is highly accurate in its messages, and sometimes strong in its delivery.
I have an affinity to feel energy and name the unspoken.
I have direct communication with the Divine, so I will tap into it accordingly.
I can, so why not? Why shy away from what I know is?
See, Mom’s message was a gentle reminder and encouragement to act in accordance with my authority. In other words, if you are that, be that. Be that in speech, be that in deed. Carry yourself with the authority that you wield. Walk in your light because you have it. Be brilliant because you are brilliant. And being anything less than Who You Are does not do justice to Who You Are.

So very often we dim our light to not be “too much”.
Ma reminded me to be all that because I AM ALL THAT.
Not only am I smart; I am intelligent.
Not only am I knowledgeable; I am wise.
Not only am I strong; I am mighty.
Not only am I kind; I am love.
So I must act accordingly. And responsibly.
Let this be your reminder and encouragement to act in accordance with Who You Are. And as you become more, be more. For, why would you be less than Who You Are? You feel me?
This is my permission slip to myself to be all that, because I am all that.
And if you are all that, too, I encourage you to be all that, fully.
For the world does not benefit from our mediocrity. Life needs us at full capacity. So BE THAT.
With love,
Jun
